Prairna Agarwal is a celebrated Actress, Writer, and Producer in Indian film, TV and theatre space and associated with media & Films for last 35 years. An alumnus of National School of Drama and after doing an appreciation Course from Film and Television Institute- Pune, India, she started her career as an actress and writer. She has recently Produced & Written a Children Feature Film “BAVLI,” Narration- Naseeruddin Shah, which ran successfully in International Film Festivals. BAVLI won “Children Feature Film of the Year” award & “Standing Ovation” in prestigious Festivals. She has written another children’s feature film “BACHCHA MASTER” with Mukesh Tiwari & children. She has acted in many Feature Films and TV Serials; Khilafat, Terkeib, Akeli, Balika Vadhu, Pratigya, Kasturi, Hello Dolly, Hatim, 1857 Kranti, Maharathi Karna, Mahabharata, Ramayan, Thief of Baghdad, Campus, Sapno ki Duniya, Parvarish, Hasraten and Toote Pankh. She played main protagonist in plays -Round Head and Peak Head, The Wild duck, Hamlet, Poor Bitos, The Bourgeois Gentleman, Ghosts, The Gypsies, Rakthbeej, Barah Pantis, Hatak and Janki & Radha. As a writer her two books of plays Manto ki Mozel and Meethi Eid got published. Her three more books are under publication - Manto ki Sugandhi, Pyar Mein Kabhi- Kabhi and a Story Book. She has written poems and short stories which have also got published. She has Written & Produced TV Serials – Tumhare Intezaar Mein Munni, Sapno Ki Duniya,; Short Films – See Left and Right, Madam, Mera Beta, Spit, Hang-Over; Written Serials– Pehchan, Mera Humsafar, Kashmakash Zindgi Ki, Gehra daag, Chacha Chaudhry, Phir bhi Dil hai Hindustani. She has worked With Film & TV Stars- Late Om Puri, Naseeruddin Shah, Mukesh Tiwari, Poonam Dhillon, Bhagyashree, Shweta Tiwari, Bhawna Balsawar, Nishigandha Wad, Tinnu Anand, Rajesh Puri, Pankaj Dheer, Asif Shaikh, Akshay Anand and Vinay Jain. She has Written and Produced Commercial Comedy plays Kahi Kisi se Pyar ho Gaya, Jo Bhi hoga Dekha jayega, Pyar Hua Chori-Chori, Shararat, Chandni-Chand aur Chakori, Pyar mein Kabhi-kabhi, Sugandhi, Mujhse Shadi Karogi – staged in India and abroad. She has translated plays- Zoo Story, The Glass Menagerie, Act Without Words and dramatized Alexander Pushkin’s long poem The Gipsies, Stone Guest, Manto’s Hataq as Manto ki Sugandhi, Manto ki Mozel, Janki and Radha, Pareeksha & Novel Ek Raat. She has directed famous plays- The Glass Menagerie, The First and the Last, Mock Doctor, Ek Saral Kahani & Ek thi gadhi urf Allavanti. She has worked with eminent personalities from theatre field- John Retallack (London), John Clark (Australia), Nigle Watson (England), Christina (Greece), Inge Meyar (Germany), Akira Matsui and Richard Emmert (Japan).
